These measures will result in a lasting increase of the Company’s profitability and reduce its net financial debt, even in a continuously difficult economic environment.
Italian plant to be closed and production shifted to Schaffhausen, Germany

The “Community Benefit/Clean Water” Bicentenary Foundation, which the shareholders of Georg Fischer AG have made possible, also enjoys broad public acceptance and has attracted numerous additional donations. Working together with international charities, the Foundation was able to put the CHF 3.6 million at its disposal to good use, successfully completing five projects for the supply of clean drinking water in Cambodia, Niederurnen, Cameroon, Mozambique, Ecuador and Moldavian.
The poor health of the capital goods and semiconductor industries worsened further during the first half of the year. As a result, sales at the Georg Fischer Corporation were 15 % lower (11 % when adjusted for exchange rates) than the year-back period, at CHF 1 732 million.

Andreas Koopmann, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Georg Fischer Ltd., will not stand for re-election at the next Annual Shareholders Meeting on 15 April 2020. Roman Boutellier will step down as Board member reaching the official retirement age.
Over the last years, Georg Fischer (GF) implemented various measures to improve sustainability. Thanks to these initiatives, emissions have been reduced and in particular, the CO2 footprint was improved again.
The Board of Directors of Georg Fischer Ltd. has appointed Andreas Müller (48) as CEO of the Corporation. He will at the Annual Shareholders Meeting of 17 April 2019 take over from Yves Serra, who has reached the retirement age of 65. Yves Serra will be proposed for election to the Board of Directors of GF.
The 121th Annual Shareholders’ Meeting of Georg Fischer Ltd will be held on 19 April 2017 at the IWC Arena in Schaffhausen.
